Workshop in Tirana (Albanien): "Passing on the remembrance of the Holocaust and prevention of crimes against humanity"

A European workshop devoted to "Passing on the remembrance of the Holocaust  and prevention of crimes against humanity" will be held in Tirana, Albania from Wednesday 5 September to Saturday 8 September 2012.
The training will cover issues related to the history and passing on the remembrance of the Holocaust and will start with a ceremony to give an opportunity for the European Youth to pay tribute to the Persons who saved the honour of Human kind during the Holocaust.
The target group is teachers and educators from secondary school.
The teaching of these issues requires different teaching tools on how to address these subjects, particularly in history, but also from the analysis of films, visits of authentic memorial sites, sources of archives.
This workshop will be an opportunity to put into perspective the various European approaches on the topic and to exchange know how in terms of innovative teaching practices. Participants are expected to spread their new knowledge in their own country, after the training.
 15 Albanian teachers and 15 teachers from the other signatory states to the European Cultural Convention will take part in this workshop.

Un atelier européen consacré à la « Transmission de la Mémoire de l’Holocauste et prévention des crimes contre l’humanité » se tiendra à Tirana, Albanie du mercredi 5 septembre au samedi 8 septembre 2012.
La formation abordera les questions liées à l’histoire et à la transmission de la mémoire de l'Holocauste, et commencera par un hommage de la jeunesse européenne aux personnes qui sauvèrent l’honneur de l’Humanité pendant l’Holocauste.
L’atelier s’adresse aux enseignants du secondaire essentiellement. L’enseignement de ces questions appelle à nous interroger sur l’utilisation des différents outils pédagogiques, sur la manière d’aborder ces sujets notamment en histoire, mais aussi à partir de l'analyse de films, les visites de lieux de mémoire et l’utilisation des archives.
Cet atelier sera une occasion de mettre en perspective les différentes approches européennes et sera le lieu d’un échange en termes de pratiques pédagogiques innovantes. Les participants deviendront des multiplicateurs dans leur pays, après cette formation.
15 professeurs d’Albanie et 15 professeurs des autres pays signataires de la Convention culturelle européenne pourront assister à cette formation.
